Principal’s Message

Ordish, Lynn
Welcome to our website. We hope it gives you a taste of the great things that are happening at Monbulk Primary School and provides you with lots of useful, interesting information.

As our vision states “At Monbulk Primary School we endeavour to nurture and educate individual students within a safe and positive learning environment. Students will be active and responsible participants in their own learning through a broad range of experiences. At Monbulk we strive to build an involved community, one that fosters the achievement of personal best and helps make a difference to others.”

Our values of respect, responsibility, relationships and resilience underpin the way we work and play together.

Spending time getting to know each student and their individual needs and learning styles has enabled us to provide effective programs in literacy and numeracy. These are complimented by exciting specialist programs in Art, Music, Physical Education and Japanese. We also offer a variety of extra- curricular activities. These include choir, private instrumental tuition in piano, drums, guitar, and voice.

All Monbulk Primary School staff are highly committed to their profession and bring a wealth of knowledge and commitment to their crucial task of guiding students towards a fulfilling and productive seven years of primary education. They realise that the teacher is but one part of a team. Parents are encouraged, at all times, to communicate with teachers and the school management on issues that are of interest or concern to them. Community members are invited to participate in a wide range of activities that support the operation of the school, creating a strong sense of ownership and involvement. We are passionate about education and people and the school’s motto of “Expect more, Achieve more” and “Explore, Dream and Discover” very much reflects our personal beliefs about life.

Students are encouraged to be curious, to think creatively and to work both independently and use their initiative or to be active in a team, working cooperatively with others. “We are educating people out of their creativity”. Sir Ken Robinson

Monbulk Primary School celebrates diversity and strives to instil integrity, compassion and confidence in each child. Students are supported and encouraged to “Expect more, Achieve more.”

If we look beyond the beautiful grounds, well equipped facilities and stimulating environment you will see students who are serious about their learning and engaged in meaningful and innovative learningexperiences. They have a strong sense of belonging and work within a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Together parents and staff are providing all our students with strategies to take responsibility for their own learning, personal development and care for the environment

Choosing the right school is a very important decision for all parents. We are so proud of our school. We invite you to explore this website, or visit us in person, to discover more about our school and the education services that we offer.
