FUNDRAISING

Shop For Your School 2006 – Westfield Fountain Gate
Monbulk Primary School is now registered as a participant in the Westfield “Shop For Your School 2006”.

Shop For Your School is a community based competition which is aimed at rewarding local primary schools with fantastic education resources. (Apple iBooks, Lexmark inkjet and colour laser printers, Panasonic electronic whiteboards, LCD projectors, DVD players etc.) The ten schools with the most points per student per band (our band is up to 299 students) will share in the prizes. Points are earned at a rate of 1 point for every $1 spent.
Plus, this year for the first time, Westfield is awarding a national Shop For Your School prize. One lucky school is going to win a school improvement at the hands of Channel Seven’s Better Homes and Gardens. At the close of the campaign on Sunday 6 August 2006, the winning school will be determined as the school with the highest number of participating shoppers, divided by the total number of students. So the more parents, family and friends of the school who register the better our chance is of winning a school makeover by Better Homes and Gardens.

For instructions on how parents can get involved, see the enclosed notice with this weeks’ Monny Mag. More information is available at the office.

Wine Fundraiser
Early in term 3 we will be sending home a wine list from which your selection can be ordered. The wine will have the school logo on the label. A wine tasting night will be held on Thursday 20th July. More information will follow closer to the time.

Fundraising Meeting
The next meeting will be 9.00 am Friday 19th May in the staff room.
All welcome.

Thank-you

IMA Day

A resounding success for the IMA Day held on Thursday last week.  All the kids participated in all the activities and achieved a wonderful result raising more than $160.00.
A big thanks to all the teachers for their help with the lolly jars and keen bean counters in their respective classes.

Congratulations to all the children that coloured in their pictures, your photos will be sent to the council for Safetyhouse and will appear in the InHouse magazine.

The IMA costume was a big hit with the junior school and thankyou to those grade 6 students who participated.
